GAFE Admin Console Retreat

Whether you are in the serious consideration phase of migrating to Google Apps for Education or deep in the throes of going Google, you will leave with best practices and knowledge of the most current admin console developments.

This day-long event is a hands-on retreat focused on the process and challenges of migrating educational institutions from legacy systems (or current systems) to Google Apps for Education. Participants will learn best practices and current issues from experienced peers and experts. Prepared presentations and activities are supplemented by structured time for discussion and networking.
Topics covered at the retreat include:
  • Migrating to Google Apps: Planning, Domain Selection, Email Delivery, Data Migration
  • Admin console best practices for educational organizations: Deep dive walkthrough, Organizational Unit Structures, Services and Settings, Groups, Reporting
  • Chromebooks: Device Selection, Deployment Best Practices, Asset Management, Troubleshooting
  • Essential Third Party Tools: Security and Compliance, Drive Management, Web Filtering, Backup, User Training

This session is being presented by Peter Henrie of Amplified IT, an education-focused Google Apps consultancy group.

Casey is the Digital Learning Manager for the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES), where she works with preK-12 teachers, administrators, and edtech leaders across Massachusetts to explore how tech can transform teaching & learning, better connect us as humans, and create more equity and inclusion. She is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and spends a lot of time engaging educators about makerspaces, personalized learning, and what learning feels like when it happens online. Her personalized approach to professional development supports learners to explore possibilities and build confidence as they discover how G Suite tools and a little imagination can revolutionize their work. Additionally, she has worked extensively with design thinking, systems design, facilitation and she is certified by ISTE to be an authorized provider of the ISTE Certification for Educators.
