By posting 600 examples of DDMs on its website, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education provide much-needed guidance about what District-Determined Measures of Student Growth might look like in a range of content areas.
DESE’s online resource also includes the core course objectives that were built over the last six months by WestEd. It’s important to note that DESE calls their posted DDMs ‘examples’ rather than exemplars because, it turns out, they are not all exemplary.
Early reaction to the list includes disappointment in the number of DDMs for sale. While many are available for free, a high proportion are not.
